MAC Cosmetics partnered with the estate of Jean-Michel Basquiat for a signature beauty line.
According to the Happi Top 50 Company, MAC is celebrating one of history’s most influential NYC artists with a collaboration that “captures the spirit of his work rather than simply borrowing from it,” MAC Cosmetics contends.
Products include the debut of Oil Effect Eye Paint, a liquid eye shadow with a “smudgy, paint-like” finish; Pastel Painting Eye + Face Chalk, a buildable “chalk-inspired” facial formula, a lipstick and brushes.
MACximal Silky Matte Lipstick in Ruby Woo-ster (bright vivid blue red) and Bowery Brown (neutral beige), delivering 12 hours of full-coverage, pigment-rich color with eight hours of moisture.
Oil Effect Eye Paint in Oil Slick, Basquiat Blue and 1982 – a liquid shadow with a glossy, paint-like texture that can be buffed out for a sheer wash or layered for bold impact.
Pastel Painting Eye + Face Chalk in Royal Blueprint and Everlasting, offering buildable, chalk-inspired color for eyes and face. There is also a Pigment Powder.
Basquiat Artist Brush Set, featuring four professional artistry brushes for eyes, face and body. Plus, the Famous Bag, a “Pro-inspired” makeup bag designed to hold every creative essentials, according to the company.
